Lobster Alive is centrally located at the International Yacht Anchorage in historic Carlisle Bay (next to the popular Boatyard) and sits on one of the most beautiful, pristine beaches in Barbados.
The big Caribbean spiny lobsters, for which the Lobster Alive is famous for, are caught by scuba divers in the Grenadine Islands – approximately 120 miles West of Barbados. Art Taylor (the restaurant’s owner) flies to the Grenadines every week on his private plane to bring the live lobsters to Barbados where they are held in a large wholesale distribution tank at the Restaurant.
The Lobster Alive menu features mostly seafood from Barbados and the Grenadines, however, there are special meal options available for children, vegetarians and for those who don’t eat seafood.
Lobster Alive also has a small but well-stocked bar and an International Wine List. We provide complimentary lounges, beach umbrellas and a shower facility for our guests.
There is adequate parking available and easy wheelchair access. The experience is very entertaining for kids (and big kids too!). Why not make a day of it? Enjoy the spectacle. Enjoy the superb beach. But most of all, enjoy the best lobster you’ll ever taste.
As we are a small restaurant reservations are advised.
- Lunch is served from 12:00 noon until 3:30pm
- Dinner is served from 6:00 pm (last sitting is at 9:00 pm) Monday to Saturday
- Lunch with Jazz is from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm on Sundays.
- The restaurant is closed on Sunday evenings. Phone for Take Away service or home deliveries.
Please note: Close season for lobster May to end of August. During this time we use our “planned for” reserve of freshly pulled tails which are grill quality. Prices are lower accordingly, customers are advised of this before arrival and are pleased that we remain open.
Summer months can produce limited opening times and Jazz performances. This is a good time for exclusive private functions, with or without the band.
